Ha Long Bay, with its dramatic limestone karsts rising from emerald waters, is an unforgettable highlight, adding a magical touch to your northern journey. 

Moving south, the central coast and historic town of Hoi An impressed us with ancient streets, lantern-lit evenings, and world-class tailoring. We had clothes made by skilled local artisans, browsing magazines and recreating designs — best with a sculpted piece such as a suit, coat, or traditional Vietnamese outfit, though some people were even getting wedding dresses made.

In the south, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) buzzes with energy, offering vibrant markets, street food, and a mix of modern and colonial influences. History enthusiasts can explore the Vietnam War through its museums, memorials, and the Cu Chi Tunnels, gaining a deeper understanding of the country’s past. The locals’ friendliness stood out — when my sandal broke, it was quickly fixed with fishing wire and a smile, a small gesture that perfectly captured the warmth of the Vietnamese people. Meanwhile, the Mekong Delta reveals a fascinating network of rivers, floating markets, and local life along the waterways. The country also boasts some incredible beaches, perfect for relaxing after exploring mountains, cities, and rivers.

From northern mountains and traditional villages to central heritage towns, southern rivers, and pristine beaches, Vietnam offers a journey full of culture, craftsmanship, history, and unforgettable experiences.
